Lyn Lapid
Lapid writes the soundtrack to seeing life a little differently. Her unfiltered observations ripple across fluid soundscapes anchored by subtle alternative R&B grooves, loose jazz phrasing, and unassuming pop ambition. The 22-year-old Filipino American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist continues to strike a chord with audiences through her unpredictably catchy and undeniably candid songcraft.
In 2020, a series of viral ukulele covers on TikTok brought the Maryland native her first brush with virality. Her personal vision took shape across a series of essential fan favorite singles such as “Producer Man,” “When She Loved Me,” and the Gold-Certified “In My Mind.” Early co-signs came courtesy of Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, and Jungkook of BTS.
During 2023, she made waves with to love in the 21st century EP and its extended edition, the epilogue. She incited the applause of Rolling Stone, Billboard, E! Online, BuzzFeed, UPROXX, HYPEBAE, Refinery29, and LADYGUNN, among others. Speaking to her impact, Forbes touted her among its “AAPI Artists to Watch,” and Atwood Magazine christened her an “exceptional artist-to-watch.” She emerged as the rare collaborator equally comfortable on a track with Ruth B and mxtmtoon or Eric Nam and Whethan. Beyond touring with the likes of Ricky Montgomery and Claire Rosinkranz, she graced the bill of Head In the Clouds Festival and has sold out two nationwide headline tours in 2023 and 2024.
Generating over 1 billion streams, packing venues on headline tours, and attracting widespread critical acclaim, she narrates a season of self-actualization and newfound confidence on her 2025 full-length debut, BUZZKILL, out April 25th on Mercury Records. She will then embark on her first world tour in support of the album, beginning in May with Europe, UK, and North America.
FIG
An artist seeking self-expression with a DIY attitude, FIG turns
everyday activities and emotions into creative output. A
Malaysian indie pop/R&B artist living in NYC, the 24-year-old
singer-songwriter has been building a dedicated community
around her music through creative content, social engagement,
touring and her own Cob Stand event productions. She released
her latest project, FITS, independently on Nov. 8th, 2024, and
celebrated with debut headline shows in NYC and L.A.
“On this project, I explored the theme of engaging in extreme or unconventional actions as a way to reconnect with one's true self,” FIG reveals. “I also examined the dynamics of forming and ending relationships, focusing on the mental frustrations involved and how these experiences contribute to self-discovery.”
Following North American tours supporting grentperez and Peach Tree Rascals, FIG’s new project FITS includes production from frequent collaborators Julian Kaufman and Charlie Kilgore of the Indie R&B group MICHELLE, Frankie Scoca (credits: NewJeans, dhruv), Nick Catrambone and Maya Polsky. On the vibrant lead single “Opposite Day,” she’s joined by Japanese-American rapper Yoshi T. The creative vision for the project draws inspiration from the concept of large objects and the idea of scale. This ties into the theme of engaging in extreme or consuming behaviors to reconnect with oneself.
“Many of these songs emerged from conversations with peers, where we exchanged personal experiences and ideas,” she shares. “Previously, I was cautious about sharing ideas until they felt 'right,' but this time, I embraced the freedom of expressing all ideas, regardless of their quality. This approach helped me overcome overthinking and allowed for a more open creative process. Additionally, I ventured into writing about new emotions, such as love and loss, which I had previously avoided."
Before moving to NYC for school in 2019, change had been a constant in FIG’s life. Born in the Philippines and largely raised in Singapore, she moved between 10 different schools, while also spending time living in Shanghai, Beijing, and Frankfurt. With this desire for building community, she launched her events imprint Cob Stand in 2022, through which she's presented 'A Mini Concert' as an event series to spotlight fellow AAPI artists and creatives in intimate settings. In addition to bringing together up-n-coming artists and creatives, the events have been a kickstarter for making new friends and bonding over a shared desire for connection.
Prior to the release of FITS, FIG released her debut project, BUD, in 2022 and embarked on U.S. tours in support of dhruv, Sarah Kinsley and Tiffany Day. Stand-out singles include "Splinter" and "Pair Of You,” which have combined for more than 3M Spotify streams. In 2025, she aims to continue her intentional approach to creating with like-minded artists and sharing with her growing audience.
