Spencer Zahn

Spencer Zahn is a bassist and composer who has released several albums both as a solo artist and as a collaborator. His music is marked by openness: spacious, intriguing sonic spaces, rich with contributions from his creative community. Zahn’s 2024 release titled Quiet In A World Full Of Noise, is a critically acclaimed collaboration between he and Dawn Richard. Quiet and their first album Pigments are each deeply empathetic and compassionate projects that open itself up to both individual reflection and communal connection. Not strictly jazz or ambient electronica, Zahn’s compositions cross genres utilizing his music community in Los Angeles. In November 2024, he released a live, quartet album, Statues Live. After moving to Los Angeles in early 2023, Zahn started to work with a group of new musicians that make up some of the most exciting players in LA. His new west coast quartet consists of Nicole McCabe, Vancil Cooper, and Zach Tenorio, who are featured on Statues Live. The album was recorded during two performances in Los Angeles and is available via Leaving Records. Spencer will be touring during 2025 and working on a new solo album
