Artist Info
Talib Kweli
“I’m a touring artist. I’m an artist that’s internationally known. I’m not just a local artist at this point in my career. I’m cognizant of the fact that what I do is beyond where it started. I’m trying to reach the apex of where I am now, but without turning my back on or dismissing what I’ve done before.”
After nearly 20 years of releasing mesmerizing music, Talib Kweli stands as one of the world’s most talented and most accomplished Hip Hop artists. Whether working with Mos Def as one-half of Black Star, partnering with producer Hi-Tek for Reflection Eternal, releasing landmark solo material or collaborating with Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Just Blaze, J Dilla, or Madlib, Kweli commands attention by delivering top-tier lyricism, crafting captivating stories and showing the ability to rhyme over virtually any type of instrumental.
In 2011, Kweli founded Javotti Media, which is self-defined as “a platform for independent thinkers and doers.” Kweli has set out to make Javotti Media (which released his 2011 album, Gutter Rainbows, and is named after his paternal grandmother) into a media powerhouse that releases music, films and books.
DJ Niara Sterling
In the span of this budding career, Niara has become an integral leader in the renaissance of community, style, and expression.
Niara’s sound is in continual evolution. Her musical style embodies rhythm, blues, soul, jazz, funk, gospel, hip-hop, house, and afro. While maintaining a decorated DJ portfolio, Niara has worked with Ari Lennox, Easy Mo Bee, Masego, and Moses Sumney. She has toured internationally with Talib Kweli as his DJ as well as participating in international EDM festivals.
Dudley Music
When he is not creating or performing, Dudley is contributing to the growth of Long Island’s community of musicians and visual artists. Dudley is a regular at Rockwood Music Hall and recently performed at The Blue Note and Brooklyn Bowl, two of NYC’s premier live music venues. Dudley spent the Summer of 2019 on stage supporting artists like Talib Kweli, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Sublime with Rome, Slightly Stooped, Gladys Knight, and Patti Labelle.
His debut EP, On My Way, was released in the Spring of 2016. With support from Hip Hop legend Talib Kweli, an extended version of the project was made available at Talib's online store, KweliClub.com. Dudley's sophomore EP, Rely On Me, was released December 20, 2019.
