For singer/songwriter Kira Metcalf, music is the ultimate way to understand the world, process the experiences that have shaped her, and forge connections with people around her and the ever-evolving way she defines herself. Born by the beach in Long Island, New York, Kira has been singing, writing songs, and playing the guitar since they were a preteen listening to the 60s pop and 90s grunge that would lay the foundation for the gritty yet hauntingly ethereal songs she’d pen later on. After her mother died, Kira turned to music to process the intense emotions that followed; since, the power of their music harnesses that emotion, creating stories that flitter between pain, paranoia, love, and introspection—looking for the truth and answers within the universal mess of feelings that connects us all.
