VOTE TO WIN: Which of These Three Guitar Legends Coming to Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on January 17 Shreds the Hardest?
Posted On Wednesday, January 10th
In 1995, G3 was launched by guitarist Joe Satriani, who wanted to showcase some of his favorite guitarists by bringing them together to all share a stage and a tour. Recruiting artists such as Steve Vai, Marco Ciaravolo, Eric Johnson, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Morse, and many other talented special guests along the years, Satriani put together an evolving roster that would make up G3. Today, G3 continues to tour with the most talented shredders of our generation; on Wednesday, January 17, guitar legends Joe Satriani, John Petrucci of Dream Theater, and Phil Collen of Def Leppard come together for a special edition of G3 2018 at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas.
The three guitar heroes for this date all have a solid standalone track record, spanning from being personally recruited to tour with Mick Jagger (Satriani), to leading Dream Theater, a two-time Grammy-nominated band (Petrucci), to playing on Pyromania, one of the most famous Def Leppard albums of all time (Collen).
That being said, we want to know who, of these three guitarists, you think would win in an epic guitar battle throwdown. Check out their solos below and cast your vote at the bottom of this article to be entered to WIN 2 VIP TICKETS to the January 17th show.
JOE SATRIANI Many believe that Joe Satriani is a guitar legend that will never be forgotten. He is a 15-time Grammy award nominee and has sold over 10 million albums, making him the biggest-selling instrumental rock guitarist of all time. Thus it's no surprise that Satriani has served as a mentor and teacher to renowned guitarists such as Kirk Hammett, Charlie Hunter, and Steve Vai, just to name a few. JOHN PETRUCCI (Dream Theater) Rock legend, John Petrucci is best known as a founding member of the progressive metal band Dream Theater. In addition to Dream Theatre, he has played in a variety of projects including Explorers Club, Liquid Tension Experiment, and Nightmare Cinema. PHIL COLLEN (Def Leppard) Lead guitarist for the rock band, Def Leppard, Phil Collen will go down in history as a rock god. He's best known for his work on the band's breakthrough album, Pyromania, playing guitar solos on the hits ‘Photograph’, ‘Foolin’’, and ‘Rock Of Ages’ among others. However, in addition to playing with Def Leppard since 1982, Collen has had two successful side projects: Man Raze and Deep Delta. Oh and he's also a Muay Thai kickboxer.
