RECAP: Brooklyn Bowl New York's Official 8th Birthday at Brooklyn Brewery Presents: A Brooklyn Blast on July 7, 2017

We turned eight-years-old last Friday, July 7, 2017 and it was our best birthday to date! There was a contagious energy in the room from the jump, leading up to unforgettable performances from Los Elk, Gedeon Luke, Ripe, and Gigamesh! Los Elk got things moving with satisfying funky rock vibes that prepped us all for a dance marathon that went all night long. Gedeon Luke and the People followed Los Elk, getting right into the groove with funkified dance moves and non-stop soul! Gedeon combined his funk tribe with the audience at the end for a bombastic horn-fueled session directly beneath the disco ball. Shortly after, Ripe hit the stage and had the entire room singing, clapping, dancing, jumping... it was our birthday party after all! Featuring a plethora of originals and performing their latest cover of Ellie Goulding's "On My Mind," Ripe had the crowd roaring and ready for a birthday celebration, Brooklyn Bowl style. After an epic family photo taken from the stage, Ripe funked up the horn-filled "Pretty Dirty," finishing with a balloon drop meets streamer explosion with a special shoutout / Happy Birthday chant to Brooklyn Bowl! The balloons dispersed, giving those who could get their hands one, a party favor to wave in the air as they kept on dancing, and that they did with a bumping DJ set from Gigamesh to close out the night. It was an incredible feeling at The Bowl last Friday. So many amazing artists, fans, and music memories to last a life time.
