Once a year, the internet’s largest auctioneer, eBay, convenes the brand’s most active users for a week long “seller-bration” dubbed OPEN. It is an opportunity to educate, enlighten and imbue their audience with the knowledge necessary to succeed in ecommerce and to also have a little fun along the way. Enter Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas, host of this year’s eBay OPEN Party, the capstone soiree experience of the convention aimed at effectively commending their deserving affiliates with the mother of all parties. The entirety of the venue was put to use on Thursday, July 28 with over 1,100 guests enjoying all 80,000 square feet of opportunity. An evening of curated experiences, dining and drink awaited invitees carefully crafted by the team at eBay and Brooklyn Bowl to make for unforgettable affair.
Upon entry guests were invited to taste eBay and rock’n’roll inspired specialty cocktails including the fan favorite, “Devil’s Haircut”. The main bar area of Brooklyn Bowl converted to house a green screen portrait studio, offering backgrounds transporting attendees to hot air balloon rides, space, desert landscapes and more. Further inside the venue guests lounged and dined on a variety of charcuterie, salads and flatbread pizzas while staff members passed an array of menu items including crab cakes sliders, mac and cheese rounds, won tons and so much more, a pleasing taste for any palate. An artist roamed amongst the assembly airbrushing willing participants with intricate temporary tattoos to order. Inside the restaurant area, guests enjoyed a mock-poker tournament receiving tips from an expert and prizes for anyone able to win with a 7-2 draw, the worst opening hand possible by odds.
The most popular station throughout the event was positioned inside the main concert space, where a digital caricaturist delivered cartoon memories to the audience garnering a line all night long. All 32 bowling lanes remained full and active throughout the night. Guests rolled strikes between snacks and sips and donned eBay socks, another festive take-home from the event. The culmination of the evening occurred when rock superstars The Fray took the stage at 9:30pm for a rockin’ 75 minute performance. Astonished and exuberant attendees sang along to the band’s massive hits including, “How To Save A Life”, “Over My Head (Cable Car)”, “Heartbeat” and even a couple of crowd pleasing covers like Cheap Trick’s “Surrender”. Swaying to The Fray while enjoying late-night root beer floats and custom eBay logo cupcakes.
The combination of experiences and entertainment available composed an evening of unparalleled celebration proving once again that Brooklyn Bowl is a space where anything is possible. Check out out favorite shots from the night below, by Cerissa Lopez.
