On Wednesday, December 21, The ChillFam Allstars will pay tribute to one of the greatest musical geniuses to walk the earth, Michael Jackson.
The ChillFam Allstars is a Supergroup conceived at The Catskill Chill Music Festival. This collective involves members of Pink Talking Fish, Turkuaz, Kung Fu, Particle, Deep Banana Blackout, Elise Testone and more. Their Michael Jackson Tribute set at The Chill this year was one of the highlights of the festival. It was a coveted indoor set and, even though the music didn’t start until after 3AM, there was a line of people waiting to get into the stage and the fire marshall had to institute a “1 in/1 out” policy.
The energy was off the wall and all the members felt the desire to make the magic happen again. Christmas is coming early on December 21st as The ChillFam Allstars celebrate the music of Michael Jackson. We’ve compiled 5 great MJ videos below to help prepare you for this epic funk throwdown.
“Thriller”
The red jacket, that bass line, and the most progressive production for a music video to date.
“Bad”
Michael put the “Bad” in “badass” with this classic 80’s jam.
“Smooth Criminal” Live in Munich, 1997
Never one to shy away from an outstanding performance, the production of this show in Germany matches the King of Pop’s energy.
“Black or White” + more at MSG
These two nights at Madison Square Garden were the pinnacle of pop music. Of course Slash comes out to assist…
"Beat It"
"Michael Jackson's 'Beat It' short film introduced the world to one of his most recognizable outfits: the zippered red leather jacket, black pants, white socks and black loafers. The Bob Giraldi-directed short film won two American Music Awards and four Billboard Video Awards and was named Video of the Year by Rolling Stone in 1983."
